Driving Course Demonstrations Raise Awareness About Distracted Driving

Students at Burmingham High School listened to stories of family members who lost relatives to distracted driving.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness month, and the California Highway Patrol is on the look out for texting drivers.

Those engaging in distracted driving could pay a minimum 160 dollar fine per ticket.

On Wednesday in Van Nuys, CHP warned students at Burmingham High School about distracted driving.

Last year alone, 13,000 accidents in California were from texting. Driving accidents have become the number one cause of teenage deaths.
