USC Fountain Run
USC is already preparing for this Thursday's annual Fountain Run. This event is meant for seniors to celebrate their time at USC and upcoming graduation. In previous years, hundreds of students have dressed in comical "swimming" attire and triumphantly ran through all of the fountains located around campus.
However, according to DPS Deputy Chief David Carlisle, the run has resulted in many student injuries in previous years. Students have slipped, fallen and been cut on sharp objects during their participation in the annual activity.
As a result, USC has implemented safety measures this year to help ensure fewer injuries. Many fountains around campus have been surrounded by gates in order to prevent any students from running through them.
Some USC students do not feel as though this is protecting them, but that the gates are unattractive and unfair because they pose a hindrance to a fun senior tradition.
