Herbalife Facing 130 Consumer Complaints

At least 130 consumer complaints have been filed with the attorney general for "predatory business practices." ATVN's Margaux Farrell reports.

More than 130 Herbalife customers from The Coalition to Stop Herbalife filed complaints with the California attorney general claiming that the nutrition management company is running a pyramid scheme, according to CNS

Herbalife distributes weight management and nutrition products to over 90 countries.

According to their website, they hire “distributors” or people who pay an entrance fee to sell products and to recruit other distributors. Distributors can buy into the company and receive sample-sized products for a payment of $59.50 or buy the Full HMP package for $92.25.

Currently 525,251 people have bought into the company.

Some consumers are not happy, with one claiming to CNS that Herbalife conducts “predatory business practices.”

Critics have grown so frustrated with the company that they created a website called HerbalifePryamidScheme.com. The website features a profiles of different success stories that the company uses to attract distributors and then dismisses them.

The website also features areas where people can take action and lodge a complaint against the company.

A Herbalife trader is also in the news for insider trading.

COMMENTS

It's a scam, my so called mentor was in the process of leaving while still recruiting, the top pyramid leader out of Arizona offered to assist me as an "orphan" only to require buying more & more leads leading to more & more Accounts Receivables (98% of leads were deadbeats). Eventual legal recourse, ugly, run when you hear the name. It's a pyramid scam.

As a USC Annenberg graduate I'm saddened by the lack of objectivity on this piece... This is supposed to be Annenberg!!! Guys, where's the other side of the story? This is NOT a fair and balanced piece. Where is the satisfied Herbalife customer? The successful part time Herbalife member making some supplemental income? Where is the investigative reporting to find out who is fueling and financing these groups (i.e. Multibillionaire hedge fund manager in Wall Street who placed an irresponsible $1 Billion bet against the company in 2012 and who is getting desperate as year ends)? Full disclaimer: I am an Herbalife Latino employee and I take great offense to these allegations. I'm also a proud USC Trojan, MA 2000, Annenberg.

I join herbalife in 2003 on my own free wil. I was not forced do anything by the company. People that are complaining should take responsibility for their own failure. Myself and my family have incredible results with the products.

Notice how they are all fat? Clearly never used the product , that's where it starts.
Lazy people fat people reflects in work ethics , then complain about another thing that hasn't worked out in their life.
Easy to blame a company rather than look in mirror , disgusting!!
