OC Mourns Loss of Teens Killed in Crash

A press conference was held Monday regarding the five teens who were killed in a fiery crash over the weekend. ATVN's Drennon Kimpton has the story.

A press conference was held Monday regarding the five teens who were killed in a fiery crash over the weekend. The teens were driving on the 5 Freeway after a visit to Knott’s Scary Farm. Their car veered off, crashed and caught on fire.

Officials say the 16-year-old who was driving the car did not have a license. According to the Los Angeles Times, the driver, Bradley Morales, was ejected from car and suffered a severe head injury. He is now in stable condition after undergoing brain surgery. The five passengers in the car were identified as Jenny Campos, Jenny Bahena, Alex Sotelo, Matthew Melo and Brandon Moreno. All five were pronounced dead at the scene.

Campos and Bahena were students at Laguna Hills High School. Sotelo and Melo both attended Capistrano Valley High School, while Moreno went to Carl Hankey Middle School. Hundreds of people gathered at memorials on Sunday to remember those who were killed. The superintendent of the Capistrano Unified School district will provide grief counselors to help students cope with the loss.
