The No. 16 USC football team (3-2, 2-1) suffered its first PAC-12 loss Saturday night in a thriller at home to Arizona State. The Trojans gave up 510 yards through the air to the Sun Devils, who captured a 38-34 victory on a final second hail mary.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian discussed the play call on the final throw and what caused the team to struggle against the arial attack. Senior captain Hayes Pullard spoke about being in coverage in the endzone during the touchdown pass and assessed his team's performance.
The Cardinal and Gold will look to return to its winning ways when USC travels to Arizona to take on the unbeaten Wildcats.
This team is NOT VERY WELL COACHED in all the phases of the game , granted the coaches can't suit up on Saturday . Granted USC has been short on scholarships for the last 3-years . Maybe a lot of these players would not be starting if the program could have offered other players scholarships . Who Knows ! I have coached for many years and this team is not Disiplined , Doesn't put out 100% every second when they are on the field . Just look at the film . Other coaches see this and this is why this team play's the way it does and this is why you have this kind of outcome. . Every second on the playing field by every player counts and this team does not show that . In closing I think the formations offensively and defensively and the play calling is sometimes Very Week and this is what causes this team to loose momentum and confidence . You take no prisoners on either side of the ball . This is what makes this game so great . This coaching staff needs to work harder and demand a higher level of play from every football player . This coaching staff really needs to take a GOOD LOOK AT ITSELF ! Every aspect of the Game must be addressed , every player must be held accountable , every coach must be held accountable . You must coach practice and play every game " as it were your LAST PRACTICE OR GAME ". You do this and you will see the difference . Don't forget the RESPECT and LOVE for each other . This equals success ! Good Luck with the rest of the season .
