While USC students are preparing their Halloween costumes and plans, both USC and DPS officials  are preparing to take extra measures in order to keep students safe this weekend, especially on and around The Row.

Several fraternities, including Tau Kappa Epsilon and Sigma Alpha Mu, have registered parties with the school's Department of Public Safety for this weekend. These parties are expected to comply with the university's regulations designed to keep parties under control that have been in place since last January.

The university is planning on making an effort to have DPS officers patrol areas on and around The Row on foot, as opposed to either in their cars or on their bicycles. They say this will benefit not only those attending social events but also young kids that will potentially be trick-or-treating.

USC student Tylre Roberson says that she is a little worried about security, and plans to take extra precautions over the course of the weekend. "I definitely plan on taking Campus Cruiser. I don't plan on walking anywhere myself."

Sigma Alpha Mu will also follow DPS's safety rules at their party the night after Halloween.
