USC Track and Field has Record Setting Day
The USC track and field team took advantage of a combination of Saturday events across California to make its mark in school and national record books. In Norwalk, junior Katerina Berdousi moved into an unfamiliar spot, stepping up from the typical 1500m race to running the 5000m for the Women of Troy and did not disappoint the coaches. Berdousi posted the eighth-fastest time in school history with a 17:26.47. Meanwhile in Walnut, California, junior Andre De Grasse set a personal-best in the 100m sprint that tied him for the world record of any-condition time of 9.87, followed by a 200m showing that tied the Canadian record of 20.16.
USC will next be in action Friday in La Jolla, California for the Triton Invitational, which will extend across the weekend.
