Ronald Jones II: "I was very nervous"
True freshman running back Ronald Jones II made his USC football debut Saturday night in a 55-6 rout over visiting Arkansas State at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The tailback out of McKinney, Texas tallied an impressive showcase of talent, registering 86 yards on just six carries, including a 44-yard touchdown.
Jones II spoke after the game and admitted that he was very nervous taking his first steps onto the field wearing the Cardinal and Gold, but those nerves soon subsided and it was all business after that. Jones II was one of four running backs to play for the Trojans, including two other true freshmen, and he is competing for the back-up role behind redshirt senior Tre Madden.
USC (1-0) will be back in action at the Coliseum Saturday when the University of Idaho (0-1) rolls into Los Angeles.
