Suspect in Delta State Shooting Is Found Dead

A reporter on the scene says the campus was calm despite the lockdown.

Police in Mississippi report that the man suspected of fatally shooting a woman he lived with on Mississippi's Gulf Coast and a professor at Delta State University is dead.
Police were following 45-year-old Shannon Lamb when they say he pulled over his car and ran. Police heard one gunshot and found Lamb with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  He was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
This afternoon Lamb allegedly shot his domestic partner, Amy Prentis, in their home, and history professor Ethan Schmidt in his office at Delta State University.
Police searched the campus and concluded Lamb was no longer there.  They lifted the lockdown after several hours.
ATVN spoke to a local student reporter on the scene at Delta State about the mood on campus after the lockdown.
