Antwaun Woods: "It Didn't Go Our Way Tonight."
The USC Trojans fell to the University of Washington Huskies in a heartbreaking 17-12 loss at the Los Angeles Memorial Colisuem on Thursday night. The No. 17 Trojans are now 3-2 overall and 1-2 in Pac-12 conference play. The Trojan defense could not stop the Huskies allowing them almost 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. True freshman linebacker Cameron Smith led the defense in total tackles with 11 overall. He was joined by another freshman, Iman Marshall who had the team's only interception of the night.
Senior captian Antwuan Woods had just 3 tackles overall. After the game, he spoke about the defense's lackluster performance. He placed the blame for the loss on poor execution rather than on a lack of proper playcalling. "It just comes down to the game of football," Woods said.
Next up the Trojans will be on the road to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Kuickoff will take place this Saturday in South Bend, Indiana at 4:30 p.m.
