Sports SCene: Football Prepares for the Wildcats; Zach Banner In-Studio

USC football looks to keep their win streak alive against the University of Arizona and women's tennis gears up for their tournament in New York.

With the temperature dropping, USC sports are only getting more heated and SportSCene is here to get you caught up on all your news.

The USC football team is on a two-game winning streak after beating Cal over the weekend. This week it’s Homecoming as the Arizona wildcats come to town. Hosts Kristen Lago and Jackson Safon have your keys to the game and how the Trojans can takeaway their recent success over the Golden Bears and work it into what they can hope can become a 3-0 start in the Pac-12 South.

A big emphasis of USC’s recent success has been fueled by the run game. It just so happens that that’s the Wildcats offensive strength going into this game as well. Jackson is joined by Paolo Uggetti to break down each team’s talented ground game and anticipate which defense has a better shot at controlling it.

In case you missed it, it is homecoming week and Jodee Sullivan will help you navigate through this week’s busy schedule and how USG has embraced a throwback theme to bring the USC tradition to both past and current students.

To round out the football part of the show, Jackson is joined by the one and only Zach Banner in studio. The offensive line man talks about the team as a whole, the offensive line’s evolution this season, trash-talking the opponent, his love of basketball and his heritage and hometown in this great interview.

From the gridiron to the volleyball court, where USC’s women’s volleyball squad dropped their first match of the season this weekend at Washington, but still find themselves in great position heading into the last stretch of the season. Keely Eure joins Kristen Lago to talk about the team’s dominance so far this season and where they’ll head to next.

For more on USC sports, Hailey Tucker lights the torch this week taking you through the week of women’s soccer, men’s water polo and Alexa Palermo also gives us our weekly glance on what’s going on in the social media world.

Collegiate athletics are one thing, but this week Jodee Sullivan decided to take a visit to a peculiar club team sport when she joined and participated with the ultimate frisbee club team at USC. And to top it all off in this week’s episode, we get a special look at the Trojan mascot and what he’s doing on a special trip to the South.
