Student Spotlight: USC Shoe Designer
USC student Lucas McGartland is a member of the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation, a program that aims to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. Today he joined ATVN to talk about his entrepreneurial experiences in the program so far, and even brought some 3D prototypes to illustrate.
Having previous experience with 3D design, Lucas knew he wanted to create a cool product. After experimenting with “Iron Man” masks, Lucas decided to take a different route and explore the world of shoes, primarily athletic ones. He loves the complexity associated with the different textures, laces and fabrics. After much brainstorming and sketching, Lucas printed 3D versions of some of his awesome designs and was able to show off his talent in the studio.
