Women's Hoops Tips Off Season with Win Over Hope International

The Women of Troy tipped off their 2015-2016 campaign Friday afternoon with a 92-43 win over Hope International University.

The Women of Troy tipped off their 2015-2016 campaign Friday afternoon with a 92-43 win over Hope International University.

Kristen Simon led the team in scoring with 20 points. Jordan Adams also turned in a big game with 18 points and 14 rebounds. 

Hope International led for the first 1:20 of the game. After that USC took over and controlled the rest of the game, leading 48-18 at halftime, en-route to an easy 49-point victory over the Royals.

When asked about the season-opening opponent, Coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke said, "I thought it was important for us to: one, get the jitters out, and two, start getting to know eachother on the court a little more, so this gives us that experience."

The next game for the Women of Troy will be Monday afternoon against Santa Clara University. Tip-off is at 4PM from the Galen Center.
