Survivor Speak Out Caps Off Take Back the Week at USC

The Speak Out seeks to provide a space space for individuals to share their stories with a supportive community listening.

Closing out the Take Back the Week initiative at USC on Thursday is the Survivor Speak Out.

Spoken word poet Andrea Gibson will address students, and survivors of sexual violence will share their stories.

According to event organizers, the event seeks to provide a space space for individuals to share with a supportive community listening.

USC's Women's Student Assembly organized Take Back the Week and extended the programming over five days rather than holding a more traditional Take Back the Night awareness event.

All week, Alumni Park has displayed t-shirts with phrases and stories that raise awareness about sexual violence, and students interviewed by ATVN, shown above, reacted positively to the campus display.

On Monday, a Night of Artivism mixed art with activism, and on Tuesday, a panel and dinner featured experts on the legal rights of survivors.
