Survivor In Seal Beach Shooting Released From Hospital

The 73-year-old woman was released from the hospital Monday.

The lone survivor of the Seal Beach beauty salon shooting was released from the hospital Monday, a spokeswoman says.

Harriet Stretz, 73, was listed in critical condition when she was rushed to the hospital following Wednesday’s mass killings at Salon Meritage on Pacific Coast High way, but her condition improved dramatically over the weekend.

Long Beach Memorial Medical Center spokeswoman Richele Steel confirmed that Stretz was released at 12:30 this afternoon to continue her recuperation at home.

Meanwhile, Seal Beach police released tapes of the 911 calls that came in the day of the shooting from someone in the salon during the gunfire.

Scott Evans Dekraai, 42, of Huntington Beach, is charged with eight counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
