USC Students Raise Money for African Wells
Starting Monday, a group of USC students have pledged to only drink water for the next 10 days in an effort to raise money to build wells in Africa.
The fundraising campaign is put on by USC's chapter of The Wells Project, a group that began at Texas A&M University in 2007, and is partnered with Living Water International, an organization that is committed to bringing clean drinking water to African villages.
During the 10 days, USC participants will donate the money they would have spent on coffee, Red Bull, and other beverages. The money will then be used to drill wells in Rwanda.
USC's chapter of Wells Project aims to involve a wide-range of students, according to Lindsey Caldwell, the co-founder of USC's Well Project.
The goal is to raise $10,000 this year, all of which will go to building wells in Rwanda.
