Republican Presidential Candidates Take On Super Tuesday
Ten states are holding Republican caucuses on Tuesday which gives the four Presidential candidates a chance to accumulate delegates and take the lead in the race to the White House.
With 419 delegates at stake, Super Tuesday results could dramatically shape the direction of the campaign as it moves into the spring. 1,144 delegates are needed to secure the GOP nomination.
Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum hope to solidify a front-runner position as they battle over Ohio, a major state in the Super Tuesday lineup. Romney has won four consecutive caucuses including Saturday's contest in Washington. Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, is expected to do well in Vermont and Massachusetts, while Santorum is expected to thrive in Oklahoma and Tennessee.
Newt Gingrich aims to keep his campaign alive with a win in Georgia. Gingrich has only one won state, South Carolina.
Ron Paul, currently in fourth place, is focusing the North Dakota and Alaska primaries, where 28 and 24 delegates are at stake, respectively.
Students can view Super Tuesday results in Taper Hall at 5pm.
