Protesters 'Call Out Corporate Tax Dodgers'

Occupy L.A. activists are protesting against "corporate tax dodgers."

While most Americans will spend Tuesday filing their tax returns, activists in Los Angeles will instead be protesting against the "corporate tax dodgers" who they say are not paying their fair share.

Representatives from Good Jobs L.A., Occupy L.A. and other unions are taking part in a series of events to protest that "it's never tax day for the 1 percent."

This group representing the "99 percent" started their morning by dropping protest banners over unspecified freeway overpasses.

At noon, the group along with 1,000 protesters they expect to join with them will march from the Bank of America Plaza at 333 Hope Street to protest the "corporate tax dodgers."With this much activity in the financial district, drivers can expect serious traffic delays and street closures around lunchtime. Alternate routes will be available to minimize the impact on the drivers.

After the march, the activists will host a rally at 4:30 p.m. in Pershing Square, and will be finishing off their day by gathering signatures in support of Governor Jerry Brown's proposed tax package.

COMMENTS

“If you look in the dictionary under "corporate greed" you should see the Verizon logo.
The company is healthy and profitable, the CEO just raised his own pay from 7 million to 24 million dollars, While you and I pay a 33% tax rate Verizon some how gets refunds.
So how does this corporation repay this country?
By sending American jobs overseas and trying to take away the pensions, healthcare and other benefits from 45,000 union employees that helped build them into the successful company they are!
If the public does not wake up to the kind of corporate bad citizenship that is running amok lately then the middle class will be extinct soon.”
