USC Named Top 2 Party School by Playboy

Playboy Magazine ranks USC as the second best party school in America.

In Playboy Magazine's latest list of America's Top 10 Party Schools, the University of Southern California came in second with the University of Virginia taking first place.

Round out the top five, in order, are the University of Florida, University of Texas and University of Wisconsin. Other schools to make the top 10 include University of Georgia, Vanderbilt University and Ohio State University.

Playboy's editors ranked America's top 100 colleges and universities in three categories: sex, sports and nightlife.

The list, along with the magazine's Top 10 rankings in other categories "Sex Life," "Sporting Life" and "Nightlife", was featured in Playboy's October college issue. This is the seventh time the magazine has published its list of Top 10 Party Schools in its 59-year history.

In last year's list, published in May, 2011, the University of Colorado at Boulder took the number one spot, but the college failed to appear in this year's edition.

Esteefanie Rodriguez, a student at USC, said she's not surprised and has mixed feelings about the ranking. "I don’t think it is a bad thing, but it is not a great thing," said Rodriguez, "It goes with the saying: you work hard, you party hard!"

ATVN asked students what they thought about the ranking. Check out some of the responses on Twitter below:

kinda makes sense. its home of the Trojan Marching Band.

Being a strong party school shows you're a strong social organizer. It's a perfectly fine reputation as long as alcohol mortification is avoided, transports are limited and sexual assaults are low. Party responsibly, Trojans.

This is bad for USC's reputation among employers which is the reason you go to college. Clean it up folks!

No, my experience as an alumnus suggests otherwise. The camaraderie at USC, both pre- and post-graduation, is founded on a shared experience and culture that has endured for decades. I am proud to say that an integral part of this culture is an active and vibrant social scene, which results in a higher emotional intelligence among our alumni - a skillset woefully lacking in graduates from other major universities, and desperately sought after by employers. Moreover, I have benefited from our school spirit/networking (no doubt fueled by fond memories of an antic-filled early-adulthood) in the form of countless job offers and career opportunities. In turn, I've happily passed this benefit onto many capable and motivated Trojans. Don’t ever change, USC. Fight on!
