

Joy Wang was a broadcast and digital journalism and communication major.
Joy won 1st Place in the 2013 Southern California Journalism Awards for Reporting - Broadcast, Podcast or Stream - Student Journalist.
In her seventh semester at ATVN, Joy was a Web/Video Executive Producer and a News Anchor on Monday. Last semester, she supervised the web and put together day-of-air packages as a reporter on Wednesday. Previously, she has also worked as an assignment desk editor, teleprompter operator, floor manager and multimedia journalist.
This semester, Joy is also interning for NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams. This is her third internship with NBC after previously working for the local morning show, Today in LA. Last summer, she experienced working in radio as an intern for the Marketplace Morning Report with David Brancaccio. She has also worked with ATVN alum Rich DeMuro at KTLA. Throughout her internships, she helped interview subjects, write scripts as well as pitch and edit stories.
In her spare time, Joy loves to write songs and go to Universal Studios. In the future, she hopes to report for a local news station in the Los Angeles or New York Area.
