One Dead from South Carolina Campus Shooting
A 19-year-old sophomore died Tuesday evening after a shooting took place near Coastal Carolina University (CCU), said a school spokeswoman. The shooter has yet to be identified and still at large.
Anthony Darnell Liddell, originally from Bennettsville, was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach after he got shot around 7:20 p.m. at a residence hall near the school's Conway, S.C. Campus. Liddell was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The state law enforcement division is continuing the search and investigation on Wednesday.
There was no apparent threat to students, faculty or staff on campus, said Coastal Department of Public Police Chief David Roper.
Kaitlin Eriksen, a student living at University Place residence hall near the crime scene, told the Sun News of Myrtle Beach that she heard four or five gun shots from her apartment Tuesday evening. She went to the balcony and saw a man fell against the back of a car's rear window.
"He took about two steps back and then collapsed. He just fell out there," said Erikesen.
Katrina Shuleski, another student living in the same residence hall, said she saw dozens of people gathered around the crime scene after the shooting.
"I just saw somebody laying on the ground," she said.
The school sent out alerts warning students about the shooting via text messages and email around 8 p.m on Tuesday. All the residence halls were locked down overnight.
CCU's statement said that there will be no disruption in Wednesday's class schedules. Counseling services professional and ministers will be accessible to assist students.
Coastal Carolina Unviersity is a liberal arts school founded in 1954. School's University Place is home to approximately 2,000 students, according to the school website.
