State Senator Carol Liu Visits Local Elementary Schools

State Senator Carol Liu, chair of the Senate Education Committee, visited Edison Middle School as part of her statewide bus tour discussing public education, focusing primarily on community schools.

This was just one of many stops in Liu's "Pathway to Partnership: Community Schools Strategy" Tour that urges a collaboration from the whole community to create resources that help promote students' educational success and strengthen the involvement of families. 

It included a tour of the school as well as a few remarks given by LAUSD School Board Vice President Steve Zimmer in regards to the program.

Senator Liu went on to visit other schools within the LA community and is scheduled to fly out to Bakersfield later on to continue her tour.
