Monday Motivation: Krav Maga

The Israeli self-defense class provides a hard workout and fighting skills.

Krav Maga Unyted Downtown focuses on developing physical fitness and strength, while also teaching applicable self-defense techniques. The Israeli self-defense class provides a hard workout and fighting skills.

"You might learn something that could potentially save your life," said General Manager and Head Instructor Chris Gors. "Why not workout and get an actual skill while doing it."

Even though Krav Maga is an effective way to stay safe, there are other ways to prepare for a bad situation.

"Be aware of your surroundings," advised Gors. "Trust your instincts, so if someone's looking kind of odd or shady to you, be aware of that."

Both men and women train at Krav Maga Unyted, and the gym offers three levels of self-defense classes. There are also SpeedX and SpeedX Combat classes offered, which are more cardio based.
