Meningitis Outbreak Continues at UC Santa Barbara

Health officials confirmed a fourth case of the disease. 

The University of Santa Barbara confirmed four students have been infected with a potentially deadly strain of meningitis.

More than 300 students who were in contact with the sick student have been given antibiotics.

UCSB officials emailed students, parents, and faculty to alert them that all classes and activities are scheduled to continue as normal. They also reminded students to avoid close personal contact and seek treatment should any symptoms appear.

One UC Santa Barbara student talked about the precautions that the school is taking.
