Monday Motivation: Stress Management for Healthy Living
College students have so much stress, especially with finals only a week away. Students are stressed about internships, doing well in class, and social lives.
USC's Stress Management for Healthy Living is a two unit class that gives student instruction on the causes and consequences of stress, and learn techniques on how to manage stress.
The unique part about Stress Management is that most the classes are not actually held in a classroom.
"I'll talk for about 45 minutes," said Professor Danielle Roman. "Then we'll go do activities and exercise"
Class activities range from intense circuit training, to ultimate frisbee, to outdoor peaceful mindfulness exercises.
Students seem to be applying these new techniques to their daily lives.
"Ever since taking this class, I've approached my problems better in a different way," said junior Daniel Kim.
Other students are finding ways to incorporate quick workouts.
"Today I had an exam, and before I wen for an hour walk," said sophomore Gillian Marshall. "I studied while I walked."
