Charges Against ex-Miramonte Elementary School Teacher Dropped

Sexual abuse charges against ex-Miramonte Elementary School Teacher Martin Springer were dismissed Wednesday Morning.

According to the prosecutor, the 12-year-old alleged female victim refused to testify after she said she was traumatized by the preliminary hearing.

Springer, who was arrested in 2012, pleaded not guilty to all charges. He had taught at Miramonte for more than 25 years.

"I'm just happy that this case is dismissed," said Springer's lawyer. "He [Springer] just wants to be left alone and get his life back."

Teachers and parents voiced their concerns.
