Meet the Candidates: Logan Heley and AJ Pinto
Logan Heley, a junior who currently serves as a Greek Senator and Assistant Director of Campus Affairs, is one of three candidates running for President of the Undergraduate Student Government.
Heley has worked with USG for three years and organized the university's first town hall meeting about alcohol consumption and social life last year.
"That was the first time ever that students could talk directly to administrators about these issues," said Heley. "I plan to organize more town hall meetings where students can speak openly about things like sexual assault and alcohol consumption at USC."
Heley also plans to create new protocol for campus sexual assault investigations with the Department of Public Safety. One of his top goals is making sure there is always a female DPS officer present.
"We want to make the Trojan family stronger, and one way of doing that is ensuring that students feel safe no matter where they are and what they're doing," said Heley.
AJ Pinto, Heley's running mate and Vice Presidential candidate, is also a junior with three years of USG experience. He currently serves as the Wellness Affairs Director and established "Take 5," the first annual wellness campaign at USC.
"My priorities include pushing for better equipment and increased funding for the Lyon Center, and working with administrators to move USC closer to being a smoke-free campus," said Pinto.
He also plans to improve outdoor workout facilities on campus.
"These are not empty promises," said Heley. "If elected, AJ and I will deliver on all these things."
More information about Heley and Pinto's campaign can be found on their website.
