USC Ranks Third for Most Donations to Universities
Known for mammoth donations from icons like George Lucas and Dr. Dre, USC ranked third for total donations received by a U.S. university behind Harvard University and Stanford University, according to the Council for Aid to Education (CAE).
The Council looked at total voluntary contributions received by private and public universities in 2013.
USC brought in $674.5 million in donations, while Stanford topped the list with $931.6 million. Harvard came in with $792.3 million.
While the top ten were all private institutions, UCLA ranked 11, making it the public university with the highest contributions. Last year, UCLA raised $419.6 million.
The Voluntary Support of Education survey by the CAE has been conducted for the past 56 years and measures all gifts that were processed before the year ended.
