Fort Hood Shooter was Iraq Vet, Mental Health Patient
The shooter who killed three and wounded 16 before ending his own life reportedly had "major psychiatric" issues, according to Army General Mark Milley.
Ivan Lopez, the shooter, was said to have had a history of depression and anxiety and received treatment for his mental ailments.
When seen by a psychiatrist last month, it was determined that he would not be a danger to himself, or others. According to the Army, Lopez did not participate in any combat during his four-month tenure in Iraq.
The U.S. Army's criminal investigation unit will continue the investigation into the shooting.
