Jay Z to Bring 'Made in America' Festival to L.A.
Rapper and music mogul Jay Z joined Mayor Eric Garcetti and other area leaders to announce a two-day music festival on the grounds of Los Angeles' Grand Park.
The Made in America concert series, slated for Labor Day weekend, was praised by Mayor Garcetti as a boon for tax revenue and area businesses and a proper event for a "world class city" like Los Angeles.
"On Labor Day weekend, we're gonna celebrate our golden state of mind, right here in L.A., with a sellout crowd right here on the steps of City Hall,'' Garcetti said.
The Made in America series was launched in 2012 by Jay Z in Philadelphia. The L.A. edition is expected to draw more than 50,000 attendees and require several street closures over the course of the late summer holiday weekend.
