University Crime Bill Proposed

If passed, universities would have to report certain campus crimes to local law enforcement.

Universities are now required to report on-campus sexual assaults, hate crimes and other violent campus crimes to local law enforcement.

The change comes after some California colleges were accused of covering up sexual assault cases to keep crim statistics low.

If passed, the bill would require up to date disclosure of on-campus crime upon request by students, prospective students, employees, and the media.
