Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Wednesday.

The outdoor shopping area, located right near the coast, has become a regular spot both for tourists and locals.

Chris Bollyn, a visitor from Chicago, says that the openness and accessibility of the Promenade is refreshing, and the selection of clothing stores is impressive. Bollyn says he plans on visitng the site multiple times while he is in town.

Nora Gorczyca, a Los Angeles native and now a Santa Monica resident, remembers when the Santa Monica Promenade first opened. "Now I just feel extremely lucky to be able to come here whenever I want," Gorczyca says.

The Promenade regularly features street performers and farmer's markets and offers a variety of eateries and clothing stores.
