Pierce Larsen is a junior multimedia journalist with a broadcast journalism major and communication with a sports and entertainment emphasis minor. He attends The University of Southern California, and shoots, writes, edits and reports news packages. For Pierce, it’s all about telling a good story.
Aside from work at ATVN, Pierce works at USC's award winning television network, Trojan Vision. He has previously hosted "Trailer Park," a daily show discussing new releases in the film, television, and stage genres. Currently, he can be seen as a correspondent for "The SCoop," USC’s top entertainment news show, covering today’s latest pop culture trends and stories from a collegiate perspective.
As a backpack journalist, Pierce produces audio packages, video packages and articles on a variety of issues in the Los Angeles metro area. His work includes stories about, but not limited to, politics, sporting events, and the entertainment industry. He has experience as a "one-man band" writing, shooting and editing packages for long-term and day-of-air deadlines.
He’s an activist in and around his community, donating his time to numerous charities such as the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Operation Christmas Child, The Invisible Children Club, Green Peace, The Pink Ribbon Club, and to schools throughout the local Los Angeles District.
Pierce is experienced in the use of social media to promote content from a news organization and to gain story tips and interview leads from followers. He is very comfortable with sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blogger, Tumblr, and mobile/desktop applications linked to such platforms.
Pierce would ultimately like to become on-air journalist bringing his take on newsworthy topics relevant to our society as a whole.
