USC Women's Tennis Hoping For Luck In Las Vegas

The USC Women's Tennis Team looks to capitalize on early season success as they head into tournament play this weekend.

The USC Women's Tennis power duo of sophomore Gabby Smith and senior Giuliana Olmos are back in action and taking no prisoners. The pair kicked off the weekend with a championship win at the Oracle/ITA Masters in Malibu, serving up a 6-2, 6-2 win in the title match. Meanwhile, the rest of the Women of Troy took to San Fransisco for the Battle of the Bay. The team was led by sophomore Madison Westby who paired with San Fransisco's Shanna Dos Santos for doubles play before falling in the quarterfinal match.

The Trojans will be on the road this weekend when they travel to Las Vegas for an ITF Pro Circuit Tournament. Smith, who is originally from Las Vegas, talked about returning home this weekend for the tournament, and discussed the challenges of battling for a wildcard spot.
