USC Track and Field Heads to Triton Invitational in San Diego

One Trojans thrower called the Invitational "a great place to throw" in preparation for USC's dual meet against rival UCLA.

The Trojans have one more multi-team meet before they face UCLA and the Pac-12 Championships. This weekend, the track and field team heads to UC San Diego for the Triton Invitational.

USC's contingent will include women's throwers, pole vaulters, distance runners and jumpers. Among those will be discus thrower Alexandra Collatz, who is ranked 4th nationally in the women's discus this season.

"UCSD is a great place to throw. There's always a good wind," Collatz said. "There's gonna be good competition."

The Triton Invitational will take place this Saturday and Sunday. USC's last dual meet will be May 4 at UCLA, as the Trojans try to avenge a Bruins sweep of last year's meet. Pac-12 events begin May 10.
